How do I change the Wi-Fi network name and/or password on my eero 6 router?

Here are the step-by-step instructions for changing your Wi-Fi network name and password on the eero app for your eero 6 router:

  • Open the eero app: Locate and launch the eero app on your smartphone or tablet.
  • Access Network Settings:
    • On the main screen of the eero app, tap the Settings icon (it looks like a gear icon in the lower right-hand corner of the app).
  • Look for the section labeled "WiFi name and password and tap that section
  • On the next screen tap on the "WiFi network Name" to edit it.
    • Enter your desired new Wi-Fi network name.
    • Choose a name that is easy to remember and identify.
    • It's recommended to avoid using special characters or spaces in the network name.
    • Click Save in the upper right-hand corner of the app
  • Edit Network Password:
    • Tap on "Network Password" to edit it.
    • Enter your desired new Wi-Fi password.
    • Choose a strong password that combines uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
    • For better security, avoid using easily guessable passwords like birthdays or pet names.
    • Click Save in the upper right-hand corner of the app
    • The eero app will process your changes and update your network settings.

  • Re-connect your devices:

After the update is complete, all your connected devices (phones, laptops, tablets, etc.) will be disconnected from the Wi-Fi network.

You will need to re-connect each device to your Wi-Fi network using the new network name and password you just created.

Great work! You have successfully changed your Wi-Fi network name, password, or both!

How do I add a new personal Wi-Fi device to my eero 6 network?

To add a device to your eero network:

  1. Open your device's Wi-Fi settings.
  2. Find your Wi-Fi network name from the list of devices.
  3. Once you have selected your network from the list, type in your network password.

How can I fix Wi-Fi dead zones in my home?

We understand the frustration of weak Wi-Fi signals in certain areas of your house. Here are a few options:

  • Relocate your router: Try placing your router in a central location away from walls and thick objects that can weaken the signal.
  • BridgeLink eero 6 routers: For guaranteed whole-home Wi-Fi, BridgeLink offers state-of-the-art eero 6 routers for rent! These powerful routers extend your signal to eliminate dead zones. You can easily install them yourself and add up to three units for complete coverage.

No Internet on ALL devices

Basic Checks:

1.) Verify there is power to the eero Wi-Fi router and that it has a white light lit.

2.) Perform a quick power cycle on all your eero devices. Unplug them from power for about 30 seconds, then plug them back in and wait for them to fully boot up (usually around 2 minutes). Alternatively, you can restart the network from within the eero app: navigate to Settings > Advanced > Reset and choose Restart Network. This will reboot your entire eero system.

3.) Check Cable Connections: Ensure all cables are securely plugged into their respective ports. This includes the connection between your POE (antenna’s power source) and the eero Internet port on the underside of the device, as well as any Ethernet connections between eero devices (if applicable).

4.) Verify eero Status: Open the eero app and check the status of your network. Look for any error messages or indications that the eeros themselves are offline.

5.) Test Wired Connection: If you have a computer or laptop, try connecting it directly to one of the eero 6 Ethernet ports with a cable. If you can access the Internet through this wired connection, the issue might be with your wireless network configuration or your devices themselves.

Can I use my own Wi-Fi router?
